A LITTLE KNOW-HOW

Good chaos.
Simple rules.

Get into the room

Your host shows a six-character code and a QR code. Open Game Room on your phone, enter the code and choose a nickname. You don’t need an account. Hosting is currently owner-only.

Pick one. Commit to it.

Each question has four answers. A short countdown gets everyone ready, then the answer timer starts. Your first submitted answer is final. Keep your phone open: the question and countdown arrive directly, independently of a livestream’s delay.

Correct beats quick

Every correct answer earns 1,000 points. Wrong answers and missed questions earn zero. There are no speed bonuses or penalties, and equal scores share a rank.

Enjoy the reveal

Answers reveal when everyone has submitted or time runs out. You’ll see the correct answer, a short explanation, a source and updated scores. Your host chooses when the next question starts.

Reconnect if you need to

Return on the same browser and device to recover your player. If browser storage is unavailable, keep the tab open; refreshing may lose your player pass. Joining locks when a game starts. The host can remove players, lock the lobby and close the room.

Keep it friendly

Choose a respectful nickname. No searching for answers or spoiling the reveal in chat. Remote play relies on a little trust; this is for friendly bragging rights.

Privacy & room details

Use a nickname rather than personal information. Players can see other nicknames and game scores. The app stores room settings, nicknames, game answers, scores and recent connection times. A random player pass in your browser lets you reconnect; it grants access only to that room. The host’s account credentials are never shared with players.

Rooms expire 24 hours after creation and expired room data is deleted during subsequent game requests. Leaving removes you from the active lineup and clears this browser’s player pass; your room record remains until expiry cleanup. No public player accounts, email collection for players, chat, advertising analytics or cross-device profiles are included.

The host uses an existing authenticated owner account. Presentation links grant viewing access, so share them only with intended viewers. A room code allows joining while the lobby is open. Don’t share private host controls on stream.

Music Grab Bag uses independently authored text questions with sources shown after each answer. No music service login, embedded player or audio recording is used by this game. The host and presentation screens offer optional original synthesized quiz music with mute and volume controls. Phones stay silent, and music pauses for reveals or when its tab is hidden.
